DESCRIPTION: EPW – "Charles Smith, London" signed mvt likely of continental manufacture, verge fusee, 47mm, OF original pair cases, outer case is vermeil with repousse scene of cherubs overlooking two people shaking hands and a man wearing a Roman helmet sitting on a throne, inner consular case is approximately 10K gold (tested), white enamel dial with arcaded minute chapter, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and engraved foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#28. Comes with a key. Gross weight of assembled watch 60.2 dwt (93.6 g). CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fusee chain is wrapped loosely around barrel and not attached to fusee, balance appears to be good...
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, fusee chain is wrapped loosely around barrel and not attached to fusee, balance appears to be good, near mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous gilt tone, few short scratches at bottom pin; dial has faint hand rubbing line on inner chapter and few edge flakes under bezel with the most notable at 7; fine hands, minute hand is of a darker shade than hour hand, hour hand has a spot of wear through on detail; original outer case appears to have been freshly gold-plated with plating on portion of button latch, case shows light wear, hinge is missing one end cap, one crack on rear near man's foot, no dents or dings, some wear to detail on high points with one tiny hole in man's head, button latch good; original inner case shows little wear, "Le Roy" crudely scratched inside rear, scattered tiny pinprick nicks on rear, one small ding and small dent on rear shoulder; bow pivots freely with play at pendant junction; domed glass crystal has scattered small conchoidal flakes.
